Mike and Diane from Evergreen Colorado popped into our Tasting Room today, armed with the latest edition of American wine critic, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
Mike had visited our website to learn more about our wines, especially as Robert Parker had rated them so very highly for so many years. He thought our website was "charming" and "entertaining", and he had to pay us a visit to find out more.
The couple came to us via Sydney and Hobart, and were wending there way back to Melbourne before heading back home. They normally visit Europe, especially Italy, where they have become real connoisseurs of Italian pressed, dried, salted and cured meats. They raved about a butcher in Iowa who has the best Parma Ham in the world. Mike hopes he might get some work experience with him to learn the secret of perfect parma!
Although the Bulls Blood was the favourite of the day, the hot weather we have been having influenced them to leave with their other favourite wine, the brand new 2009 Eden Vally Riesling.
A delicious drop, zesty and zingy, and reminiscent of freshly squeezed lime juice. Lovely served cold on these hot days.
